We were asked by Staffordshire Fire Service to run a first aid programme for their cadet scheme that was based at Lichfield Fire Station. After discussions it was decided to deliver the FPOS Basic course from Edexcel. This was chosen as it was quite a practical course and gave the students a BTEC qualification. The cadets worked hard over several weeks, with all of them passing the course. By the end of the course, they all had a sense of achievement, with a couple expressing the desire to learn more and go to the next level.

As such we were asked to put them on the next FPOS Intermediate course. This course was hosted by JCB in Uttoxeter, which included some of their staff. The two Staffordshire Fire Cadets worked hard over the duration of the course. They gained valuable experience of working with a company that is dedicated to looking after its staff by going above ‘normal’ first aid at work training. The two cadets both passed the course, along with all the JCB staff.

Congratulations to all involved in the two courses mentioned above.
